away from airports and it needs a
long ride on substandard roads
to reach the beaches. That
means if you like it very smooth,
use Ngapali Beach, if you don’t mind
a 5-7 hour drive, or a cruise
through the Irrawaddy or Irrawaddy
delta take the car, the hotel or
travel agent will supply one.

tourism map,
Ngwe Saung (Silver Beach) offers its visitors unspoiled
beaches and tranquility on the Andaman Sea coast of the Indian Ocean. A few

for local and foreign visitors. Ngwe
Saung can be reached by car from the capital Rangoon in approximately seven
hours. The journey takes travelers on a partly bumpy and pot-holed road
across the alluvial
Irrawaddy
Delta region. As an alternative to road
travel, it is possible to travel from
Rangoon to the
Pathein River by
boat (this is not always, needs some investigation with a local travel agent
in Rangoon), a journey of approximately 16 hours through picturesque scenery,
passing homesteads and typical villages dotted along the riverbanks.
Countless larger and smaller tributaries interconnect the vast and fertile
Irrawaddy
Delta; it is an ideal area for rice cultivation. Ngwe Saung

A different way to
reach the beaches on the west coast around Pathein - Bassein is a cruise
through the
Irrawaddy - Irrawaddy delta by
river vessel "RV Bha Nyar Latt", or the "Delta
Queen".
-Chaungtha Beach
Chaungtha beach
is located
40 km to
the west
of
Pathein
(Bassein) in
Irrawaddy
division. It takes about 6 hours by car from Rangoon,
hotels.
An ideal and
reliable means of transport to ply the waterways of the
Irrawaddy Delta region. The 45-meter-long ship
